Welcome - Ms. M. Kapono called the meeting to order at 7:11 since Mr. Dufva had not yet arrived.
Approval of July 2001 Minutes - After Ms. Kapono confirmed that Board Members had seen the July 2001 minutes, Ms. Gillam made a motion to accept the minutes as written. Mr. Gillam seconded the motion. Motion passed 5 - 0.
Treasurer's Report - Since Mr. Pitrowski was unable to attend the meeting, there was no Treasurers Report to be approved. He will be forwarding this and his report to the Trustees via mail.
Code Enforcement Report - Mr. Robin Caton, Code Enforcement Office explained that he is trying to be both pro-active and reactive and tries to make personal contact rather than leaving notices or sending letters. At this time, he has approximately 40/50 cases of code violations in our community. These include inoperable vehicles, debris in yards, commercial vehicles parked in community. Of these, several are going to Code Enforcement Court and may face fines up to $1,000 per day. He offered much information about codes within our community including set back information for storage of boats, trailers, sheds, etc. (Any shed over 150 sq. ft., or any structure attached to the residence, must have a permit pulled for it; this also involves permitting for electrical and water service.) Information as to whether permits have been pulled can be accessed on the Hillsborough County web site, Building Permits. He was able to give information about the strong odor that has been over Logan Gate Village lately. There are 2 cases west and north of our community that are being investigated; they involve farm animals, proper disposal of garbage, etc.
HomeOwners Association Report - James Gillam reported:
The HOA now has a bank account.
Community Clean-up Day will be Sept. 22, 2001 from 7:30 am to 12 noon. There will be 2 trash roll-offs, 1 for metal and 1 for wood. HOA and Tax District board members will work that day and volunteers would be appreciated.
No meeting in September due to Labor Day.
Report from Rick Pitrowski, Communities of America - no report. Mr. Pitrowski absent due to illness.
Maintenance of LGV Web site - Mr. Daly will continue to maintain the web site. He will begin to purge old emails while retaining all official minutes and documents. It was confirmed that any responses from Board Members to residents' emails would NOT be an official response but that of another LGV resident. If official response is needed, the emails will be handled by Mr. Dufva as Taxing District representative or Mr. Gillam as HOA representative.
Next Meeting - will be Monday, September 24, 2001 at the Winn Dixie Store on Gunn Hwy.
Meeting Closed - Mr. Gillam made a motion that the meeting be adjourned. Mr. Daly seconded the motion. The motion passed 7 - 0 to adjourn the meeting at 8:38 pm.
