Board Members Present: Mark Dufva, Cynthia Anne Kapono, Malia Kapono, Marla Ruth, James Gilliam

Absent: Dana Gilliam, Bill Daly

Residents: 3

Others: Rick Pitrowski, Communities of America; Deputy George Murin, Sheriff's Office

Welcome – M Dufva opened the meeting at 7:15 PM and welcomed everyone.

Approval of June 2002 Minutes – all board members present indicated they had read the May 2002 minutes. It was noted that Don Grady should be Don Hardy. A motion was then made by M. Kapono to accept the minutes as written. C.A. Kapono seconded the motion. The motion passed 5-0.

Approval of Treasurers’ Report – C.A. Kapono stated that there was a discrepancy in the Treasurers' Report for June 2002. R. Pitrowski, COA, will contact the accountant, Mr. Johnson. Two (2) reports will be presented next month.

Security Patrol Report –Deputy George Muran was present and stated that it had been 'pretty quiet' in our community lately. No felony or burglary reports to date. They will continue their random patrols. R. Pitrowski will prepare a Letter of Commendation regarding the officers that work for us in our community - George Murin and Edward Perez. M. Dufva will sign it and mail to Sheriff Henderson with a copy to Deputy DeLuna.

Community Advisory Council – D. Hardy reported that the traffic light should be installed at the intersection of Henderson Road and Gunn Hwy. This is expected in the month of August 2002. Ground will be broken for the Wal-Mart store in September 2002. The cleaning of the tract of land by Buckler/Schuler (Brownfield designation) continues. Though there are no plans for widening Henderson Rd., there were 2 traffic counters recently installed - one north and one south of the LGV Henderson Rd. entrance. The counts from this activity will be recorded by December 2002 and future requests for permits, etc. should now be more accurately researched and granted.

Home Owners Association Report – the HOA has scheduled the Community Garage Sale for September 28, 2002. The advertising will be done the week before and week of the sale. The Newsletter should be in our mailboxes within the next week or 10 days. Next Newsletter is August with all material and advertising due to M. Kapono by the end of the 3rd week in July.

R. Pitrowski, Communities of America reported that:

The irrigation for the continuing section of LGV Blvd. is complete with the exception of a wiring problem thought to be in the original system at the front. R. Pitrowski will meet with the serviceman on Wednesday of the upcoming week.

Oak trees - R. Pitrowski, M. Ruth and C. A. Kapono will meet with an arborist regarding some of the damaged oak trees in our community within the next week.

R. Pitrowski, M. Ruth and C.A. Kapono visited Bok Tower; they discussed different types of plantings that would be shade tolerant, etc. They have made their selection for the back section of LGV Blvd.

Drip irrigation for flowers - the front flowerbeds will have drip irrigation equipment installed. This will allow adequate watering in order to save the plants. This will mean going back to the County water meter; however, the water use is expected to be minimal. The installation of the drip irrigation equipment will be either via road cut or jack and bore under the road.

Assessment Roll - C.A. Kapono and R. Pitrowski will be sending the necessary CD to the Tax Collector so that we may be paid the $100 per home assessment.

Spot wall painting - R. Pitrowski reported that there are no blocks missing from the wall sections. The paint/finish is peeling off. He will have the loose materials cut out, primed and repainted.

Fountain repairs - almost completed. Plumbing is done; however, if the total work is not completed by the end of this week, R. Pitrowski will donate 1/2 of his monthly contract fee to the HOA.

The HOA will possibly sponsor a roof-cleaning project for our community. R. Pitrowski will get pricing and there will be mention of this in the newsletter to see what kind of community response there is.

New Business - Paving and striping issue - the paving recently done in our community was basically maintenance; the worse roads with potholes, etc. did not receive the new paving as they have to be reconstructed or the potholes cleaned out properly and patched. However, there is no money currently available to do the more needy streets in LGV. The striping of the streets will be done soon and as they were previously striped.

New Business - C. A. Kapono reported on Hunters Run, the new apartment complex being built north of our Henderson Road entrance. An issue that was resolved was that, regardless if the property changes ownership, all zoning items must be adhered to. She also presented a complete set of drawings for the project for the review of all present.

HOA - J. Gilliam reminded the group of the Community Garage to be held September 28, 2002. They will also begin a new membership drive for the HOA. The newsletter will be mailed in approximately 2 weeks.

A reminder by M. Dufva that the Florida Neighborhood Meeting will be September 6 and 7 in Tampa. He also announced the 4th Annual Waterwise Awards.

The next meeting will be August 26, 2002 (the fourth Monday) at the same location as this meeting.

With all business discussed, M. Kapono made a motion to adjourn the meeting. M. Ruth seconded the motion. Motion passed 5-0.
