6 - 0. Mr. Pitrowski also stated it was time for the annual audit. He suggested that we again have Bill Johnson do them this year. Ms. CA Kapono made a motion that Bill Johnson audit the books again this year. Ms. M Kapono seconded the motion. The motion passed 6 - 0. As Treasurer, Ms. CA Kapono will be meeting with Mr. Johnson.
Mr. Dufva distributed new pamphlets to all Board Members - Guide for Special Dependent Districts.
Security Patrol Report - Deputy Fleet distributed her security report to all attendees. The time period was from June until September 21, 2001. It has been quite quiet in our Community.
Carrollwood Association of Neighbors - Mr. Dufva related that there is a meeting on Tuesday, October 16 at St. Mark's Church, corner of Lowell and Casey. This is a public meeting to discuss the possible purchase of the church to be used as a Community Center, of which we would be included. Ms. CA Kapono made a motion that our Community supports the purchase of the church. Ms. Gillam seconded the motion. Motion passed 6 - 0.
Community Clean Up - there were many emotional comments about the Clean Up held the previous Saturday. In addition to the dumpsters arriving late, they were also not picked up, emptied and returned and then picked up again at 3PM as was the signed agreement Ms. Gillam had with the County and Waste Management. As a result, residents continued to pile trash, appliances, etc. around the 4 dumpsters well into Monday. During a phone call between Ms. Gillam and Mr. Mimms, he suggested that the Board Members should clean up the mess. This was not a possible solution. Mr. Pitrowski was going to arrange for someone to do the clean up on Tuesday and Ms. Gillam was to arrange to have two empty dumpsters delivered for Tuesday. Per Mr. Mimms, all remaining trash could be put in these last dumpsters - no sorting necessary. In an effort to make officials aware of the situation, Ms. Gillam would email all Board Members the facts about this situation and all Board Members were to call the County Commissioners on Tuesday and express our anger and dismay at what happened. Comments were made that this would be the last Community Clean Up. Mr. Pitrowski, Deputy Fleet and Board Members went to the site after the Board Meeting. The site was taped off and signs indicating 'additional dumping is illegal' were posted.
