Hillsborough County Solid Waste Management

The department is responsible for the efficient and environmentally sensitive disposal of more than 700,000 tons of solid waste generated in the County this year. The system includes the Resource Recovery Facility, Southeast County Landfill, Transfer Stations, Community Collection Centers, recycling services, Household Chemical Collection Centers, and the Yard & Wood Waste Processing Facilities. The Resource Recovery Facility burns up to 1,200 tons of solid waste daily and produces enough electricity to power 11,500 homes
